Job summary

Motional is seeking a highly motivated intern to join the Behaviors team in Singapore to conduct machine learning research for prediction and planning. You will work with the team behind nuScenes, PointPillars, Point Painting, PBP Trajectory Prediction and DriveIRL to deliver ML technologies with scientific rigor and innovation.

The internship is full-time for at least five months, offers flexible hours and remote work, and requires living in Singapore for the duration of the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Masters or PhD in CS/EE/Robotics.
• Strong ML research background with publications.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on driving behavior topics, such as future prediction, motion planning, agent simulation, scenario generation.
• Work with large-scale internal datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of your research.
• Collaborate with different teams to deploy your research results into the autonomous vehicles.
• Publish the research results in papers and patents.

The internship will take place in ourSingaporeoffice and we expect afull-time internship period of at least 5 months. We offer flexible working hours and allow for remote work. The candidate will however have to live in Singapore for the duration of the internship.

What you’ll be doing:

• Conduct research on driving behavior related topics, such as future prediction, motion planning, agent simulation, scenario generation
• Work with large-scale internal datasets to demonstrate the effectiveness of your research
• Collaborate with different teams to deploy your research results into the autonomous vehicles
• Publish the research results in papers and patents

What we are looking for:

• Enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or similar technical field of study
• Strong Machine Learning research background with publications in any of the top-tier conferences(RSS, ICRA, CoRL, CVPR, ICRL, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python coding and PyTorch or other commonly-used deep learning frameworks
• One-team mindset and effective collaboration with other researchers and engineers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in autonomous driving is preferred
