Job summary

KLA is seeking researchers, software engineers, and process engineers to join the MACH team and lead new product introduction projects with customers. The role involves on-site investigations, data analysis, and developing tool-control solutions to reduce patterning errors and improve yield.

Ideal candidates hold advanced degrees in Engineering/Physics/Materials Science and have hands-on experience with semiconductor process tools and metrology systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with semiconductor process tools and metrology applications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to problem-solve.
• Experience in one or more of: overlay, scanner tools, lithography/metrology, etch/metrology, process development.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects related to new product introduction, including definition, characterization, alpha testing, and beta testing.
• Provide pre- and post-sales application support with customers to define problems and resolve issues.
• Develop Best Known Methods (BKM) documents and training materials.
• On-site investigations with customer teams to identify root causes of patterning errors.
• Design and implement process tool control solutions to minimize patterning errors and improve yield.
• Collaborate with customers to publish papers in industry journals and conferences.
• Hands-on work with KLA metrology systems and software.

Enabling the movement toward advanced chip design, KLA's Measurement, Analytics and Control group (MACH) is looking for the best and brightest research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers and senior product technology process engineers to join our team. The MACH team's mission is to collaborate with our customers to innovate technologies and solutions that detect and control highly complex process variations—at their source—rather than compensate for them at later stages of the manufacturing process. With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Our MACH team develops leading-edge solutions for patterning process analytics and control technologies, thereby providing customers with critical insight at the feature level, field level and cross-wafer analysis. Our teams also develop advanced modeling simulation, data analytics and process control modeling technologies. Job Description

• Lead projects related to new product introduction, including definition, characterization, alpha testing, and beta testing.
• Provide pre- and post-sales application support, which includes collaborating with customers to define problem statements and resolve technical issues.
• Developing Best Known Method (BKM) documents, training materials, and knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with customer teams on-site to conduct investigations, gather and analyze data, and identify root causes of process patterning errors.
• Design and implement process tool control solutions to minimize patterning errors and improve yield.
• Partner with customers to publish technical papers in industry symposiums and journals.
• Hands-on work with KLA metrology systems and software will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor process tools, metrology applications, or process development.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Overlay
  • Stress-related process errors
  • Scanner tools
  • Lithography metrology
  • Etch metrology
  • Process development
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated team player with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of KLA metrology systems is an advantage.
• Programming or scripting experience is a plus.
