Job summary

An engineering consultancy firm is looking for a Resident Technical Officer for a 12-month contract in the Outram area, Singapore. Responsibilities include assisting the Job Manager with technical issues, supervising installations, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with local codes and oversight of hospital/healthcare projects is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Experience in supervision of Mechanical and Electrical Services installation for local developments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings.

Job description

Project Location: Outram area (12 months contract)

Job Description:

  • Assist the Job Manager to attend to technical and design issues at site and report issues to Job Manager.
  • Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the client and Consultant team.
  • Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same / across disciplines prior to the commencement of installation works.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance to approve drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure adequate safety precautions are enforced on site.
  • Liase with relevant stakeholders, and resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning and handing over inspection.
  • Maintain site records.
  • Estimated commencement of work in Aug 2025.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • A registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
  • Experience in supervision of Mechanical and Electrical Services installation for local Hospital/Healthcare/Institution/ Commercial Developments would be added advantage
  • Familiar with local codes and regulations
  • Ability to respond to technical questions
