Job summary

SOIL-BUILD (PTE.) LTD. is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead the M&E team on a 1-year contract at Tuas South, Singapore. You will supervise M&E works, ensure compliance with specifications, and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

You will monitor progress, prepare reports for the consultant and project management team, and maintain thorough documentation while upholding stringent safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Recognized degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Resident Engineer (RE) with JAC of IES/ACES.
• 3–5 years of site supervision experience as an M&E RE in Singapore.
• Familiar with Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice and building regs; strong regulatory submissions track record (BCA, PUB, EMA, SCDF).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the M&E team; inspect work to meet specs, quality, and safety; address deficiencies promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders for seamless M&E integration and clear communication.
• Monitor progress, track KPIs, and prepare regular reports for consultant, superintendent, and PM team.
• Identify and resolve M&E issues; propose and implement corrective actions for project compliance.
• Assist with site measurements, monitor progress, and assess VO/variation claims.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed; promote a safe on-site environment.
• Maintain accurate records of M&E work, inspections, and as-built docs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the client.

Job description

• Lead and supervise the M&E team in regularly inspecting M&E work to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Promptly identify and address any deficiencies.
• Effectively coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of M&E work. Maintain clear and concise communication.
• Monitor the progress of M&E work, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular progress reports for the consultant, superintendent officer, and project management team.
• Proactively identify and resolve M&E-related issues, proposing solutions and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Assist with site measurements, monitor site progress, and assess progress claims, including variation works (VO)assessments.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and procedures on site. Promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all M&E work, inspections, correspondence, and ensure proper as-built installation records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the client.

Requirements

• Recognized Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Resident Engineer (RE) with the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) ofIES/ACES.
• Minimum3 to 5 years of site supervision experience as an M&E RE within building construction projects in Singapore.
• Deep familiarity with Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice, and building regulations, with a proven track record in statutory submissions to local authorities(BCA, PUB, EMA, SCDF).
