Job summary

Surbana Jurong, a leading integrated facilities management group, is seeking an experienced Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our exclusive client in Paya Lebar. You will support building operations and ensure smooth upkeep of all M&E systems within the building.

You will manage M&E projects from planning to execution, coordinate with contractors and tenants, monitor energy usage, and implement cost-saving, sustainable solutions to meet GreenGov targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering with about 10–15 years of relevant experience.
• NITEC holder with more years of relevant engineering experience will be considered.
• M&E degree holders with at least 5 years of relevant work experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Building Manager to ensure smooth operations.
• Serve as first point of contact for all M&E matters in the building.
• Oversee all hard services (M&E) as specified in the contract.
• Monitor and optimise energy consumptions to reduce costs and carbon footprint.
• Implement energy-saving solutions and smart building technologies.
• Plan, supervise the installation, refurbishment, or replacement of M&E systems.
• Provide expertise on system performance and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders for reliable operations.
• Support M&E related projects through planning, coordination and on-site oversight.
• Resolve technical issues and follow up with monthly reports and quotations.

Job description

SMM is the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) arm of Surbana Jurong Group (SJ Group). We provide IFM services, including mechanical and electrical system management, and we are involved in creating sustainable built environments.

Our exclusive client based in Paya Lebar is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer to assist the Building Manager in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all M&E systems within the building.

You will support M&E related projects from planning and technical evaluation to execution, while managing contractor performance, quotations, reporting, and ensuring timely resolution of defects and operational issues.

Key responsibilities:

• Assists Building Manager to ensure smooth operations and any other assigned tasks.
• Serves as the first point of contact for all M&E matters in the building.
• Oversees all hard services (M&E) as specified in the contract
• Monitor and optimise energy consumptions to reduce costs and carbon footprint, aligning with GreenGov 2030 annual targets.
• Implement energy-saving solutions like smart building technologies and renewal energy integration.
• Plan, supervise the installation, refurbishment, or replacement of M&E systems or other ongoing projects.
• Provide expertise on system performance, enhance preventative maintenance, enable informed decision making, improve service response time, support long-term asset resilience and sustainability, provide lifecycle management, and uphold operational best practices.
• Provide accurate condition assessments, timely technical advice, and close coordination with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain operational reliability.
• Support M&E related projects through assisting in technical evaluation, planning, coordination, and on-site oversight, ensuring successful execution with minimal disruption.
• Solve technical issues.
• Follow up with the monthly report submission for hard services related work.
• Follow up with quotation on the repair work for any M&E related defects.

Key requirements:

• Ideally, Diploma holder in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with about 10-15 years of relevant experience.
• However, NITEC holder with more years of relevant Engineering expertise will be considered.
• M&E Degree holders with at least 5 years of relevant work experience may also apply.
