Job summary

Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore seeks a Senior/Executive Engineer (Video Analytics/AI) to lead design, development, deployment and maintenance of VA/AI solutions for traffic management. You will build system architectures, develop AI/ML models, annotate datasets, and manage deployments across on-prem and cloud environments.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and performance specs, driving safe and efficient road networks.

Qualifications

• Computer Science/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or equivalent background.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently in a team.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#.
• Experience in MLOps and model lifecycle, deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with media processing (ffmpeg, GStreamer); containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiar with VA/AI projects, especially in traffic or transportation fields.
• Familiar with VA/NLP/LLM implementations and cloud environments.
• Keen interest in traffic management and operations.

[What the role is]

[LTA-TRO] SENIOR/ EXECUTIVE ENGINEER (VIDEO ANALYTICS/ ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE), TRAFFIC LIGHT MANAGEMENT AND SENSORS

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of a team spearheading the design, development, deployment and maintenance of Video Analytics (VA) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that support traffic management and operations, automation, analytics and decision-making to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow as well as improve the safety and efficiency of Singapore roads.

Your work will involve developing system architecture for the VA/AI solutioning, designing and building AI/Machine Language (ML) models including generative AI for operational use cases such as traffic incident detection, classification, computer vision and automation. You will be responsible for preparing and annotating datasets, managing AI/ML model deployments and integrations with existing and new systems across on-premises and cloud environments. You will also train, optimise, test, validate, fine-tune and maintain AI/ML models for performance, scalability, reliability and continual improvements.

The role also includes collaborating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on user needs, co-development, model deployment, system integration as well as technological explorations to establish engineering requirements and performance specifications.

[What we are looking for]

• Knowledge in Computer Science/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently in a team environment
• Possess initiative and resourcefulness as well as keen interest in problem-solving
• Proficiency in at least one programming languages: Python, C++, C#
• Experience in one or more of the following fields: MLOps and model lifecycle, deep learning frameworks (eg. PyTorch, TensorFlow), media processing (eg. ffmpeg, Gstreamer) Containerization (eg. Docker, Kubernetes), Stream processing technologies (eg. Kafka), VLM.
• Proficiency in video analytics methodologies
• Familiar with VA/NLP/LLM implementations and cloud environments
• Hands-on experience in VA/AI projects, preferably in traffic or transportation related fields
• Keen interest in traffic management and operations environment
• Good team player who can work well with others
