What the role is

DEPUTY / ASSISTANT MANAGER, EV BATTERY UNIT

What you will be working on

You will be part of the National Electric Vehicle Centre (NEVC), under LTA’s Technology and Industry Development Group. The NEVC is set up to facilitate EV adoption, spearhead regulation and deployment of EV charging systems, as part of the development of a thriving EV ecosystem in Singapore. To manage the greater EV adoption, NEVC has set up an EV Battery Unit to support EV battery related matters, such as EV incident management and capability building in area of EV batteries.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating across multiple stakeholders, including Government agencies, private entities, Institute of Higher Learning to enable safe adoption of EVs
  2. Managing EV battery related projects pertaining to battery safety, inspection and etc
  3. Expanding EV battery related expertise and knowledge within the organisation, and contribute to EV and/or battery policy/ops-tech matters
  4. Monitoring developments in EV battery technologies and identifying suitable solutions

What we are looking for

  1. Knowledge with relevant engineering expertise
  2. Candidates with battery related and/or fire engineering background would be strongly preferred
  3. At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with track record of coordinating and project managing work across multiple stakeholders
  4. Strong design, conceptual and analytical thinking skills
  5. Good writing, communication and presentation skills
  6. Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently
  7. Passion in enabling a safe environment to support EV adoption
