A public sector agency in Singapore is seeking a Deputy Director for its Legal Vehicles Division. The candidate will lead a legal team providing advisory services on a broad range of policies related to land transport. Candidates should have at least 10 years of legal experience, a qualification in law, and a proactive mindset. This role offers the opportunity to influence the legal landscape and achieve a people-centred transport vision.

What you will be working on:
This Division provides legal services to LTA policy and operations divisions engaging in a diverse spectrum of land transport matters including polices on road and path usage, as well as passenger vehicle technology and services.
You will lead a team of lawyers working on delivering timely and practical solutions for emerging and dynamic land transport issues. You will work closely with policy and operations divisions by giving legal advice on policies that are being formulated and following through to achieve the intended outcome, whether by developing new legislation, leveraging on existing regulatory powers or advising on development and operational matters. The team is required to research, prepare and render opinions, draft contracts and other legal documents, and generally advise on LTA’s regulatory and licensing function. As Deputy Director, you will manage the team and be the effective bridge between staff officers and senior management.
Examples of the work you will be involved in include:-
- Advisory and project management responsibility across a broad range of legal subjects;
- Provide legal advice that is accurate, effective and practical on a wide range of policies;
- Provide quick and effective responses to queries by senior management relating to matters under the division’s purview;
- Participation in other projects as required.
As a leader of this Division, you will provide legal support for LTA’s vision of a more people-centred land transport system.
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Law
- Qualified Person under the Legal Profession Act 1966 or called to the Singapore Bar
- Minimum 10 years Post Qualification Experience
- Experience in regulatory and policy work
- Experience in working with Ministries and Statutory Boards
- Pro-active, solution and service-oriented mindset
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, willing to learn and collaborative
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Good communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Able to nurture and inspire team members
