[What the role is]Senior/ Executive Engineer (Solution Architect – Cloud System and Ticketing Equipment)[What you will be working on]We are seeking an experienced and committed Solution Architect to play a key role in the modernisation of Singapore’s Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system to deliver seamless, secure, and scalable public transport experience.As part of the System Architecture and Assurance Division, you will drive end-to-end solution design, architecture governance, and technical assessments across complex integrations involving payment systems, backend processing, cloud services, and system security. You will be instrumental in driving design best practices and ensuring system reliability at a national scale.What You Will DoAnalyse business and system requirements and translate them into high-level and detailed technical specifications and interface designsPerform technical impact analysis for change requests and system enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to mission-critical AFC operationsArchitect and design secure, scalable, and high-availability system solutions for AFC and payment systems, including those using EMV, open-loop standards, account-based ticketing and card-based ticketing modelsLead cloud solutioning and migration strategies, ensuring alignment with LTA’s cloud adoption roadmapCollaborate closely with internal stakeholders (project teams, software development teams, operations) and external partners (vendors, financial institutions) to develop robust and future-ready solutionsProduce and maintain architecture diagrams, API/interface specifications, integration patterns, and designs for complex multi-vendor and multi-system environmentsContribute to architecture governance, cloud best practices, security controls, and system resiliency planningConduct solution walkthroughs, architecture reviews, and technical presentations for internal and external stakeholders.[What we are looking for]Knowledge in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience in solution architecture, systems analysis/design, or complex application developmentProven experience designing or supporting cloud-based systemsFamiliarity with e-payment technologies, particularly in the context of fare collection, transaction clearing, and EMV-based systemsStrong analytical and communication skills, system design analysis and ability to resolve complex multi-stakeholder issuesExperience with stakeholder management and working in complex, multi-vendor environmentsBonus Skills:Cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional) are strongly preferredStrong knowledge of security architecture, including secure data flows, tokenisation, encryption, and compliance standardsHands-on exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD, containerisation (e.g., ECS), serverless architecture, or data streaming pipelinesCurious and self-motivated to stay updated with new technologies such as 5G, AI/ML, IoT, or real-time analytics.As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
