Job summary

Caladan is seeking a Trading Platform Engineer to ensure fast and reliable order flow. You will build tooling for the trading platform, own latency paths end-to-end, and respond to production issues with quick, measured actions.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in low-latency trading infrastructure, kernel bypass networking, and strong scripting abilities. Expect on-call involvement and close collaboration with trading desks.

Qualifications

• Experience building or supporting low-latency trading infrastructure in a Linux environment.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Bash or Go).
• Hands-on with observability and alerting tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Calm and methodical under production pressure; able to own incidents.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and improvements for trading platform tools.
• Build the monitoring layer for essential trading services, from health dashboards to alerting on time-critical paths.
• Provide incident support: verify compute, connectivity, market data; revert to last known good configuration and triage.
• Own routine maintenance of essential services and build tooling that automates it.
• Tune the end-to-end latency path, including kernel-bypass networking.
• Establish and maintain latency baselines; surface regressions via monitoring before desk impact.
