Job summary

A leading logistics company is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage import and export trade documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Logistics, experience in customs operations, strong negotiation skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves optimizing logistics performance and maintaining operational efficiencies in coordination with partners.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of customs/documentation operation experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with import and export processes.
  • Proficient in Office, especially Excel.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:


1. Responsible for the preparation and review of import and export trade documents, including creating packing lists, reviewing invoices, customs declarations, and airway-bills, etc.


2. Follow up on customs declaration and inspection processes to ensure document compliance and timeliness of dispatch


3. Coordinate with logistics, freight forwarders, and local customs office/ departments and to handle customs clearance processes/issues


4. Maintain and organize data in the customs declaration system and archiving of related documents


5. Track changes in trade policies and update operational procedures actively


6. Regularly analyzes overall logistic cost/s and timeliness of delivery performance of providers, and to propose cost reduction and enhance/improve logistics efficiencies & solutions


7. Optimisation of the contracted logistic providers and evaluate the performance of partners


Qualification/Experiences:


1. Education: Degree/Diploma in Logistics or equivalent field. Preferably in logistics management, international trade, or related field


2. Experience: Preferably with 1- 2 Years of customs/ documentation operation experience, familiar with import and export processes (fresh graduates must have relevant internship experience)


3. IT Skills: Proficient in Office (especially Excel pivot tables), familiarity to logistic applications will be an added advantage


4. Core Competencies: Familiar with international trade terms (Incoterms), customs clearance processes, and document requirements


Personal Attributes:


1. Candidate should show/possess cost awareness and negotiation skills, capable of independently liaising with freight forwarders and carriers. Ability to work efficiently uner pressure, and adaptable to fast-paced work environment


2. Strong sense of responsibility, attention to details, and ability to identify, anticipate and manage risk in logistics related matters. Excellent communication and coordination skills, with a strong teamwork spirit.
