Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

The Logistics Security Program Manager plays a critical role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Micron’s high-value logistics security program. This role is responsible for protecting high-value and high-risk shipments by defining risk-based logistics security controls, improving cargo-level visibility, monitoring carrier and third-party logistics provider performance, and coordinating escalation, response, and recovery activities across global transportation networks. The program manager will partner closely with Global Security, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Legal, Risk, and external logistics providers to ensure Micron maintains a scalable, auditable, and response-ready operating model for high-value shipments. This role is specifically for program management of Micron’s logistics security in the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for high-value logistics security controls across global transportation lanes, carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a risk-based logistics security framework for high-value and high-risk shipments, considering shipment value, commodity attractiveness, route risk, geography, modality, dwell time, subcontracting, handoffs, theft history, and local recovery capability.
  • Define baseline and enhanced security requirements for carriers and logistics providers, including cargo-level tracking, route compliance, approved stops, geofencing, chain of custody, tamper detection, monitoring, escalation, escorting, and recovery expectations.
  • Partner with Procurement, Logistics, Global Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to embed logistics security requirements into carrier agreements, statements of work, operating procedures, and supplier performance expectations.
  • Evaluate carrier, telematics, embedded tracking, smart seal, monitoring, and recovery solutions to ensure the architecture matches Micron’s security use cases and supports complex handoffs across truck, air, ocean, rail, brokered, and multimodal movements.
  • Manage logistics security vendor reviews, pilots, and implementation activities, including device performance, coverage, air freight approvals, global execution constraints, integration requirements, monitoring center capabilities, and response service levels.
  • Establish and oversee monitoring, escalation, and recovery workflows for high-value shipments, including alert validation, carrier and driver outreach, Micron notification, law-enforcement coordination, evidence preservation, and after-action review.
  • Measure program effectiveness using outcome-based metrics such as shipment loss rate, response time, false-positive rate, missed escalation, carrier compliance, device failures, recovery performance, claims support, and security control maturity.
  • Conduct carrier and lane risk assessments and recommend appropriate control overlays based on threat level, route complexity, aggregate shipment value, handoff exposure, and regional recovery capability.
  • Support incident response for theft, diversion, tampering, route deviation, unauthorized stop, signal loss, seal breach, cargo separation, or other logistics security events involving Micron shipments.
  • Develop and maintain logistics security policies, procedures, playbooks, standards, audit criteria, and governance materials aligned to recognized industry practices such as TAPA FSR/TSR or Micron-defined equivalents.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, risk summaries, program updates, supplier scorecards, and recommendations for senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Risk Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or advanced professional education in supply chain, security, risk management, or business operations is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as TAPA FSR/TSR, CPP, PSP, CTPAT, ASIS, supply chain risk, logistics, or security management certifications are preferred.
Experience

Experience developing, managing, or supporting logistics security, transportation risk, supply chain risk, cargo protection, physical security, or high-value shipment programs, with demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • High-value cargo security, logistics risk management, transportation security, carrier management, or supply chain security operations.
  • Implementation or oversight of shipment security controls such as cargo-level tracking, telematics, geofencing, route management, approved stops, escorts, smart seals, tamper detection, monitoring, and incident escalation.
  • Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, security vendors, recovery providers, monitoring centers, or law-enforcement partners.
  • Understanding of multimodal logistics operations, including truck, air, ocean, rail, cross-dock, customs, broker handoffs, final-mile movements, and other shipment separation events.
  • Experience conducting route, lane, carrier, provider, or facility risk assessments and translating risk findings into practical control requirements.
  • Experience managing vendor evaluations, statements of work, service-level expectations, operating procedures, supplier scorecards, and performance reviews.
  • Knowledge of TAPA FSR/TSR, CTPAT, high-value cargo security practices, supply chain resilience, cargo theft trends, and incident response disciplines.
  • Ability to analyze shipment risk data, carrier performance, alert activity, incident trends, and security metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functionally with Procurement, Logistics, Global Security, Legal, Risk, business units, and external suppliers.
  • Experience preparing executive-level communications, program recommendations, and incident summaries for senior leadership.
Soft Skills Requirements
  • Ability to communicate logistics security risk in clear, business-relevant language for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise briefings, recommendations, incident updates, and decision-ready materials.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive, and rapidly changing logistics or security incident environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-based decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders, carriers, 3PLs, security providers, and external partners while maintaining clear accountability for security outcomes.
  • Strong program management discipline, including the ability to manage multiple lanes, vendors, pilots, controls, and improvement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to balance security requirements with operational feasibility, cost, scalability, customer commitments, and business continuity needs.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential logistics, shipment, and security information appropriately.
  • Ability to use AI-enabled tools to analyze logistics risk, identify trends, and support faster, well-governed decision-making.
