Logistics & Operations Manager/Assistant Manager (Declarant - Customs)

Responsibilities:

• Strategically devise the best and most cost-efficient way to transport goods, in alignment with customers' requirements and company objectives.

• Negotiate logistics contracts and manage performance metrics of vendors and partners.

• Supervise third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and local transporters.

• Manage shipping documentation formalities with the Port Authority/Customs/Tradenet/Portnet and ensure timely and accurate submission of customs declaration.

• Address and resolve any operational issues such as delays, damages or discrepancies in shipments.

• Lead, train and develop the import/export shipping team for operational excellence.

Requirements:

1. Minimum Diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or any relevant field.
2. At least 10 years relevant experience in supply chain with 5 years in leading a team.
3. The individual must have passed the Customs Competency Test for Declarants (SC 401) with proven experience and record in understanding the roles and responsibilities as a Declarant.
4. Familiar with TradeNet & Portnet platforms.
5. Able to administer Commercial Invoices, Packing List, Bill of Lading and/or Airway Bill.
6. Have the relevant knowledge and experience in the application procedures for a Certificate of Origin via TradeNet.
7. Good understanding of shipping regulations, customs clearance requirements, international trade laws and Incoterms.
8. Good knowledge of insurance requirements and in handling and managing liability in case of loss and damage.
9. Excellent negotiation skills in negotiating rates and terms directly with shippers or shipping lines.
