Our client is a prominent shipping and logistics multinational, and they are looking for a proactive and hands-on Logistics Operations and Warehousing Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and logistics activities. The role ensures efficient inventory handling, smooth inbound/outbound operations, compliance with safety standards, and overall warehouse productivity. This individual will supervise warehouse staff and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet operational KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Manage and coordinate container-related activities, including vanning, devanning, lifting operations, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Supervise and guide workers on cargo handling especially for oversize or irregular heavy loads.
- Develop and implement method statements and risk assessments for non-standard operations or critical handling tasks.
- Ensure proper documentation of all warehouse activities, including job sheets, checklists, cargo condition reports, and implement systematic updates for traceability and audit readiness.
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and schedule shift resources based on operational needs.
- Coordinate manpower deployment to meet order fulfilment timelines and customer requirements.
- Coordinate closely with transport providers and internal teams to ensure timely pickup, delivery, and resource allocation.
- Optimised storage and yard space, equipment, and labour.
Team Supervision:
- Lead and supervise a team of warehouse staff and outsource labours.
- Monitor daily work assignments and ensure efficient task execution.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and support to ensure productivity and discipline.
- Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
- Lead daily briefings and allocate tasks based on workload and priorities.
System & Process Management:
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms for inventory control and tracking.
- Maintain accurate logistics and inventory records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.
Compliance & Safety:
- Enforce adherence to workplace safety and health regulations (WSH).
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP), lifting operations, method statement, coordinate Safety Orientation Course (SOC) course
- Support the implementation and maintenance of safety management systems, including BizSafe standard and ISO 45001 compliance.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and facilitate timely incident/accident reporting.
- Issue and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address safety breaches or near-miss incidents.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), legal requirements, and audit standards.
Office & Operational Coordination
- Liaise with office operations team for inbound/outbound scheduling, documentation, and order instructions.
- Track and report daily movement of goods, anomalies, and inventory discrepancies.
- Support safety and customer audit.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer service issues, operational queries and issue resolutions on the ground.
- Collaborate directly with clients, vendors, and transport partners to coordinate delivery schedules, manage special cargo handling, and align on expectations.
- Work independently to address and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Think proactively and apply out-of-the-box solutions to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Build strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers to ensure continuous support, responsiveness, and long-term collaboration.
- Escalate complex or critical issues with proposed solutions to operation management for effective decision-making.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in warehouse and logistics operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in WMS, inventory control systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
