Manage shipment and local transportation arrangements, and provide necessary documents to ensure smooth and timely shipping operations
Core Responsibilities:
Manage shipping documentation (e.g. import and export permits, Form D for transportation of Malaysia) and co-ordinate with carrier/freight forwarders for deliveries and shipments of raw materials from suppliers and finished goods to customers according to shipping schedule
Prepare LC shipping documents in compliance with LC requirements and handle LC shipments
Work with the Account department to monitor payments and invoices to determine release of cargo to customers
Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to co-ordinate shipment of finished products
Provide updates, resolve all shipping issues and communicate changes in shipping schedules to relevant stakeholders (Operations, Business Development, freight forwarders/agents, customers) when necessary
Work with the Business Development department to handle shipping-related customer complaints and make necessary arrangements to resolve issues when necessary
Arrange transportation for local delivery orders
Handle insurance claims in the event of loss or damage of cargo
Engage relevant stakeholders to review and improve shipping processes
Job Specifications:
Minimum education qualifications:
Diploma in any field, preferably in Logistics or Shipping Operations
Minimum years of experience:
Relevant experience in shipping is advantageous
No experience or fresh graduates are welcome
Key job-specific competency requirements:
Knowledge of TradeNet system
Good knowledge of shipping and logistics processes
Good knowledge of Global Harmonised System
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly meticulous and able to meet tight deadlines
