Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sourcing for competitive freight rates with carriers for direct markets

  • Updating Freight rates data

  • Involved in daily logistics operations with carriers, freight forwarders and suppliers including execution of supply plan function

  • Provide shipment status and work with global supply chain team to ensure orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner

  • Validating and ensuring shipment information is up to date

  • Play a role in communicating and resolving any logistics related issues

  • Verify and approve freight invoices before deadline

  • Address and close invoice disputes with vendors

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Preferably Diploma in Logistics/Shipping or related field

  • Minimum 1 year of logistic related experience would be advantageous

  • Basic knowledge of Incoterms, shipping procedure and logistics experience will be an advantage

  • Self-starter and resourceful with strong capacity in learning and understanding different markets’ related logistics and operations requirements

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Excel and SAP will be an added advantage

  • Proficiency in English is a must

  • Pro-active team player to work with cross-function teams

  • Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity

  • High attention to detail and meticulous

  • Ability to problem solve and a sense of urgency

  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management

  • Proactively identify and resolve problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude

The ideal candidate should be a team player and has demonstrated good knowledge in ocean freight, chartering and logistic matters.
