A leading company in logistics seeks a detail-oriented team player for their operations in Singapore. The position involves sourcing freight rates, managing shipping operations, and resolving logistics-related issues. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in logistics or shipping with hands-on experience, contributing to efficient supply chain functionality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sourcing for competitive freight rates with carriers for direct markets
Updating Freight rates data
Involved in daily logistics operations with carriers, freight forwarders and suppliers including execution of supply plan function
Provide shipment status and work with global supply chain team to ensure orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner
Validating and ensuring shipment information is up to date
Play a role in communicating and resolving any logistics related issues
Verify and approve freight invoices before deadline
Address and close invoice disputes with vendors
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably Diploma in Logistics/Shipping or related field
Minimum 1 year of logistic related experience would be advantageous
Basic knowledge of Incoterms, shipping procedure and logistics experience will be an advantage
Self-starter and resourceful with strong capacity in learning and understanding different markets’ related logistics and operations requirements
Knowledge in Microsoft Excel and SAP will be an added advantage
Proficiency in English is a must
Pro-active team player to work with cross-function teams
Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
High attention to detail and meticulous
Ability to problem solve and a sense of urgency
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management
Proactively identify and resolve problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude
The ideal candidate should be a team player and has demonstrated good knowledge in ocean freight, chartering and logistic matters.
