Logistic Executive

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Executive with a strong focus on customs compliance to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all import and export activities adhere to relevant customs regulations, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency. This role requires a thorough understanding of customs procedures, documentation, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and process all necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, permits, and licenses.
2. Ensure accurate classification of goods according to Harmonized System (HS) codes.
3. Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
4. Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
5. Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and trade laws.
6. Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations, including tariff classifications, valuation, and origin rules.
7. Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
8. Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation.
9. Handle customs audits and inquiries.
10. Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and customs documentation.
11. Generate reports on customs clearance activities and compliance performance.
12. Maintain a filing system for all customs-related documents.
13. Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
14. Provide clear and timely communication regarding shipment status and customs clearance issues.
15. Resolve customs-related issues and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
16. Coordinate with warehouse staff regarding inbound and outbound customs related procedures.
17. Identify and recommend improvements to customs compliance processes and procedures.
18. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for import/export operations.

Requirements:

1. Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external partners.
2. Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
3. Prefer 2-4 years of logistics experience in Logistics or supply chain, preferably in healthcare sector.
4. Has passed the Customs Competency Test for Declarants (highly preferred).
5. Capability to analyze data related to logistics operations for informed decision-making.
6. Aptitude for identifying issues quickly and developing effective solutions.
7. Strong focus on accuracy in documentation and processes.
8. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Experience in negotiating rates with carriers and service providers.
10. Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required.
11. Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
12. Knowledge of customs regulations, shipping laws, and compliance standards relevant to logistics operations.
13. Flexibility to adjust strategies based on changing business needs or market conditions.
