The Healthcare Assistant supports the daily care, mobility, and rehabilitation needs of clients in a community care or day rehabilitation centre. This role involves providing direct client support, assisting with daily routines, and facilitating therapeutic and recreational activities under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Support & Supervision
Greet and assist clients upon arrival; ensure they are settled comfortably in the centre.
Escort clients between designated areas, including drop-off points, therapy rooms, and gym sessions.
Assist clients with mobility and ensure safe ambulation throughout the centre.
Support clients with toileting needs where minimal supervision or physical assistance is required.
Help clients rest comfortably during scheduled nap times. - Nutrition & Mealtime Assistance
Serve meals in accordance with dietary requirements.
Supervise and support clients during meal consumption to ensure safety and encourage adequate nutrition. - Activity & Programme Facilitation
Engage clients in structured group programmes and social or rehabilitative activities, under the guidance of therapists.
Encourage participation and ensure a safe, inclusive environment during sessions. - Centre Operations & Safety
Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping within client areas.
Be familiar with and support the centre’s fire evacuation plan and safe management measures.
Participate in regular in-service training and staff development programmes.

REQUIREMENTS:
- GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ Level, ITE Certificate, or equivalent.
- Prior experience in eldercare or community care preferred; fresh applicants welcome.
- Physically fit and able to assist with mobility and daily activities.
- Basic caregiving skills and understanding of hygiene/safety protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented.
- Able to support group activities and follow clinical staff instructions.
- Willing to work full shifts and in a community care setting.
