Job summary

DREAM TALENTS PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Chef to join our restaurant specializing in local cuisine. You will prepare and cook dishes to consistent quality, support daily kitchen operations, and work closely with staff to ensure timely service.

The role requires the ability to maintain high food quality, manage mise en place, and handle the demands of lunch and dinner service. Extended hours, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in a restaurant specialising in Singaporean, Asian, or local cuisine.
• Good knowledge of local cooking methods, ingredients, and flavours.
• Able to prepare and cook dishes independently.
• Good understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and food hygiene.
• Physically fit and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able and willing to work extended hours consistently when required by restaurant operations.
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Able to maintain consistent food quality and performance during long and high-volume service periods.
• Responsible, hardworking, punctual, and a good team player.
• Flexible with working schedules based on the operational requirements of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of local dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portion size, and presentation.
• Carry out daily food preparation and mise en place before service.
• Manage cooking efficiently during busy lunch and dinner service periods.
• Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely.
• Monitor kitchen inventory and assist with stock ordering and replenishment.
• Control ingredient usage and minimise food wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the kitchen and workstations.
• Comply with applicable food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
• Check the quality of ingredients and supplies received from vendors.
• Work closely with other chefs and service staff to ensure timely preparation of customer orders.
• Assist with menu development, new dishes, and improvement of existing recipes where required.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Management.
