Job description

Osaka Gas Energy Supply and Trading (“OGEST”), a 100% subsidiary of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. (“OGHQ”), is seeking a responsible LNG Portfolio Optimisation Manager to oversee cargoes for OGEST and OGHQ.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with teams managing LNG portfolios and assets between OGEST/OGUK and OGHQ, including cargo operations, optimization, and commercial activities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as traders, analysts, shipping, and technical staff across OGEST, OGUK, OGHQ, and overseas offices, including mentoring cargo operators and analysts.
  • Ensure effective coordination among all parties involved in LNG portfolio optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance and proper implementation.
  • Verify that clauses in LNG SPAs, MSPAs, or CMs are accurately reflected in relevant documentation.
  • Input trade details into the ETRM system and review optimization calculations, assisting in claims when necessary.
  • Support commercial and analytical activities, including economic calculations, reviewing MSPAs, scheduling, and strategic discussions related to trading and optimization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead coordination efforts for optimization activities across OGEST, OGUK, OGHQ, and other overseas offices, fostering capability development and setting clear goals.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • At least 3 years of experience in LNG cargo operations and optimization, with strong knowledge of the LNG value chain.
  • Proficiency in English and business Japanese, both written and verbal, for reporting and coordination.
  • Understanding of optimization strategies and LNG commercial operations.
  • Deep knowledge of the global LNG market and its operational characteristics.
