A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Linux Administrator to manage Linux-based systems and servers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system configuration, monitoring performance, ensuring security, and providing user support. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and scripting skills are essential for this role.
We require a Linux Administrator who manages, maintains, and troubleshoots Linux-based systems and servers. Their responsibilities include installing, configuring, and upgrading software and hardware, managing user accounts, ensuring system security, and performing backups and recovery. They also monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting up and configuring Linux operating systems and applications on servers and desktops.
Monitoring system performance, security, and availability, including regular backups and recovery procedures.
Creating and managing user accounts, groups, and permissions.
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to Linux systems and applications.
Implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and threats.
Monitoring system performance and making adjustments to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.
Developing scripts to automate tasks and improve system management processes.
Providing support to users on various Linux-related issues and tasks.
Working with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the overall infrastructure.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and security best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
Experience with system administration tools and technologies.
Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
