Job summary

NTU Singapore’s School of Humanities invites applications for a full-time Research Associate in Linguistics to support the MOE SSHR Thematic Grant project, Singapore Mandarin Usage Dictionary. The role involves literature review, linguistic analysis, corpus-based research, and cross-varietal comparison.

You will annotate and model linguistic data, design dictionary entries, coordinate annotation, and contribute to reports, publications, and presentations while working closely with the PI, Co-PIs

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Linguistics or related field.
• Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
• Experience with corpus-based research and linguistic annotation.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate student assistants.

Responsibilities

• Provide linguistic input for annotation and computational modelling.
• Interpret corpus and model outputs to refine dictionary entries.
• Coordinate annotation and quality assurance and maintain research documentation.
• Collaborate with PI, Co-PIs, computational researchers and project collaborators.
