Job summary

Krislite Pte Ltd invites a Lighting Design Intern to join the design team in Singapore. You will support development of lighting concepts, create layouts, mood boards, and presentation materials, and help revise drawings based on feedback from senior designers and clients.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Lighting Design, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing basic lighting design concepts and proposals for assigned projects.
• Prepare lighting layouts, drawings, mood boards, and presentation materials.
• Update drawings and proposals based on feedback from senior designers, clients, and internal teams.

Job description

The Lighting Design Intern will support the design team in developing lighting concepts, preparing design materials, and assisting with project coordination for assigned projects. The intern will gain practical exposure to lighting design workflows, product applications, technical considerations, and project execution processes within the lighting and interior design industry.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Lighting Design, or a related discipline.
• Interest in architectural/interior lighting and willingness to learn lighting products and applications.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or related design/documentation software will be an advantage.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain proper documentation and file management for drawings, revisions and documents.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Able to work independently, manage timelines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and eagerness to gain industry exposure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Project Support

• Assist in developing basic lighting design concepts and proposals for assigned projects.
• Support the preparation of lighting layouts, drawings, mood boards, and presentation materials.
• Assist in updating and revising drawings and design proposals based on feedback from senior designers, clients, and internal teams.
• Support the preparation of design documentation for client presentations and internal reviews.

2. Coordination & Documentation

• Assist in coordinating design-related information with sales, project, and operations teams.
• Track design updates, revisions, and project-related information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, design files, correspondence, revisions, and project documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Support the preparation of basic reports, schedules, and internal documentation related to ongoing projects.

3. Product Research & Technical Exposure

• Assist in researching lighting products, fixtures, and solutions suitable for project requirements.
• Support product comparison, specification work, and sample preparation where required.
• Gain exposure to basic technical considerations relating to lighting design, installation requirements, and relevant safety standards.
• Learn and apply company lighting design standards, workflows, and best practices.

4. Site & Client Support

• Attend site visits and client meetings under supervision when required.
• Assist in documenting site conditions, measurements, design notes, and project observations.
• Support the design team in addressing basic project and design-related matters as assigned.
