Job summary

CHINA COMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED (Singapore Branch) seeks an experienced electrical technician to oversee installation, maintenance, testing, and repair works on site, in line with EMA requirements and project specs.

You will read drawings, diagnose faults, manage generators, conduct monthly inspections, and coordinate with engineers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on electrical experience in construction.
• NITEC in Electrical Engineering or related qualification.
• Valid LEW Grade 7 licence, preferably EMA registered.
• Experience with generators and temporary electrical installations.
• Familiarity with Singapore electrical regulations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and repair per EMA rules.
• Read electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Diagnose faults and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Manage generator operations, permits, renewals, and documentation.
• Conduct monthly inspections of generators and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate daily electrical works with engineers and subcontractors.
• Maintain safe, compliant, and well-maintained equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns, emergencies, and service requests.
• Maintain records of inspections, testing, permits, and rectifications.
• Support site safety initiatives and toolbox talks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Descriptions:

• Oversee and carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair works in compliance with EMA requirements, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Take charge of site generators, including EMA permit applications, renewals, and required documentation.
• Conduct monthly inspections of generators, electrical equipment, tools, and temporary electrical installations.
• Set up and maintain temporary electrical and utility services for project operations.
• Coordinate daily electrical works with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure all electrical works, equipment, and tools are safe, compliant, and properly maintained.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, emergencies, and service requests.
• Maintain proper records of inspections, testing, maintenance, permits, and rectification works.
• Support site safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, and compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the direct Superior or Management.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on electrical experience in the construction industry.
• Possess NITEC in Electrical Engineering or a related qualification.
• Possess a valid LEW Grade 7 licence, preferably registered with EMA.
• Strong hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and testing.
• Knowledge of Singapore electrical regulations and safety requirements.
• Experience with generators and temporary electrical installations is preferred.
• LTA / MRT / infrastructure project experience will be an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong “can-do” attitude.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Willing to work 5.5 days per week, including overtime or emergency call-outs when required.
