A leading transportation law firm in Singapore seeks a skilled Legal Transaction Associate with 8-12 years of experience. You will manage aircraft leasing and financing transactions, drafting and negotiating key documents, and advising on legal risks. Fluency in French is preferred for international dealings. The ideal candidate will excel in complex aviation law and enjoy project management in a dynamic environment.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Transaction Associate with 8-12 years of post-qualification experience to join our legal team. This mid-level role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in aircraft leasing and financing transactions, cross-border transactions, and general corporate legal transactions. Professional fluency in French is preferred to support some of our international transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to take a lead role in managing aircraft leasing and financing transactions, working closely with internal business units, external counsel, lessors, lessees, financiers, and regulatory bodies.
Key responsibilities:
· Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of transaction documents, including aircraft lease agreements (operating and finance leases), purchase agreements, novation agreements, security agreements, and related financing documents.
· Structure and execute cross-border aviation finance transactions.
· Manage transaction timelines, coordinate closings, and liaise with stakeholders including OEMs, airlines, financiers, and regulatory authorities.
· Conduct and supervise legal due diligence related to aircraft ownership, financing structures, and regulatory compliance.
· Advise internal teams on legal and commercial risks, deal structuring, and mitigation strategies.
· Monitor compliance with applicable aviation laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
· Collaborate with French-speaking clients and counsels, translating or interpreting legal materials when applicable.
· Maintain legal documentation and contribute to internal process improvements and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
· 8–12 years of post-qualification legal experience, with a focus on aviation leasing, asset finance, or transportation law.
· Prior experience in an international law firm or aircraft leasing company.
· Proven track record in handling complex aviation transactions, including multi-jurisdictional deals.
· Strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail and commercial acumen.
· Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
· Professional proficiency in French (written and spoken) or direct experience working with French companies and French law.
