Legal and Compliance: Develop and implement the company's legal and compliance strategies, provide training in ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry regulations, and best practices, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Develop Policies and Procedures: Minimize non-compliance, mitigate risk, and drive improvement. Review policies such as data protection, terms of use, data transfer agreements, service agreements, franchise/license agreements, and other legal documentation as required.
Contract Drafting, Review, and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents.
Provide Legal Advice and Guidance: On legal, compliance, contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and operational matters.
Internal Investigations: Oversee internal investigations into potential compliance violations, legal disputes, or unethical behavior. Ensure thorough and timely resolution of such matters.
Clients' Feedback / Complaints and Internal Disputes: Receive, investigate, and respond to feedback/complaints from clients as well as any authorities.
Responsible for Risk Assessment: Conduct risk review processes at the client onboarding phase including Anti-Money Laundering/Customer Due Diligence, ongoing review, and administration.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing legal team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering their professional development and success.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree of Laws (LLB) from a reputable university.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in practicing law in Singapore and in-house.
Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess legal and compliance risks.
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities with the capacity to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
