Job description

Purpose of the Role:
K2 is seeking to engage a Legal Counsel with relevant experience to support K2, its data centre business. This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal support and assessing legal risk in respect of a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, projects and regulatory, compliance and corporate governance-related issues where relevant, for K2’s global business operations.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal and transactional documentation such as customer colocation service agreements, construction-related contracts, joint venture agreements, leases, project financing documentation, security agreements, consultancy agreements and other general commercial and operational contracts with varying levels of complexity.

  • Engaging/liaising with external lawyers where required, and managing associated legal expenditure.

  • Formulating, developing and implementing process-oriented improvements and risk/knowledge management initiatives, such as model contracts and clauses, contracting principles/policies, precedent databases, checklists and other tools.

  • Overseeing the implementation of critical compliance policies, procedures and training.


  • Preferably at least 4 to 10 years’ post-qualification experience within the technology, data centre, telecommunications, real estate and construction industry(s) or sector(s), with construction, real estate and/or corporate/M&A experience, from a top-tier law firm or corporate in-house legal department.

  • Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Proactive and progressive in self-development.
