The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking law and wealth management, with the ability to advise on various investment product offerings and banking transactions, manage complex bank projects and navigate the ever-evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal advice on all aspects of the Wealth Management business, including financial products, credit transactions and investment activities. - Draft and review bank documentation related to account management, credit products and investment offerings. - Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations across different jurisdictions, safeguarding the bank’s reputation and managing legal risks. - Collaborate with stakeholders and different units on bank projects. - Advise on regulatory issues as well as account-related matters, banking secrecy, data privacy, and cross-border business operations. - Support the implementation of new initiatives and products, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business objectives. - Work closely with internal clients to meet their needs while overseeing legal considerations. - Manage tight timelines for ongoing projects while supporting day-to-day business-as-usual matters efficiently. - Oversee litigious matters and client disputes.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: - Law degree from an accredited institution. - At least 6-10 years of proven record in banking and regulatory compliance, preferably within a law firm or bank, with a focus on wealth management. Some experience in litigation is preferred. - Strong understanding of banking laws, regulations and best practices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend effective workaround solutions. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders. - Ability to work independently. - Based in Singapore.
