Legal Counsel

iCarizon is looking for a legal professional responsible for advising and representing individuals, businesses, and government agencies in legal matters. They interpret laws, draft legal documents, and advocate on behalf of clients in courts or negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal counsel on maritime laws, international regulations, and shipping contracts.
2. Provide legal advice on their rights and responsibilities.
3. Draft, review, and file legal documents (contracts, lawsuits, etc.).
4. Negotiate settlements in legal disputes to avoid litigation.
5. Draft and review shipping contracts, charter agreements, and marine insurance policies.
6. Conduct legal research to analyse case law, statutes, and regulations.
7. Advise on vessel financing, ownership disputes, and registration matters.
8. Negotiate settlements in maritime commercial disputes.
9. Ensure compliance with international maritime treaties and regulations, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions.
10. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all legal matters.

Skills & Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Law and providing Legal Advice
2. Experience in Contract Negotiation
3. Skills in Legal Document Preparation and handling Legal Issues
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Highly organized and detail-oriented
7. Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent, possibly additional maritime law certification
8. Knowledge of Maritime and Admiralty law (preferred but not required)
