ACHIEVE CAREER CONSULTANT PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its APAC power and carbon trading activities. You will draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, advise on regulatory and compliance matters, and manage external counsel to enable fast, compliant business decisions.

You will partner with commercial, risk, and senior stakeholders across multiple APAC markets, balancing legal risk with business priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years PQE in a common law jurisdiction.
• Experience in commercial transactions, ideally energy/commodities/trading.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Regulatory and compliance knowledge in energy/trading.
• Strong commercial acumen balancing legal risk with business priorities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Our client, a leading international energy and commodities organisation, is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to support its growing APAC power and carbon trading business.

This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of energy trading and origination activities, working closely with commercial teams across multiple APAC markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support across power and carbon trading, origination and commercial transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial agreements.
• Advise on regulatory requirements, licensing and compliance matters across relevant APAC markets.
• Support the business on contractual disputes, regulatory investigations and risk-related matters.
• Partner closely with commercial and internal stakeholders to provide practical legal advice and support business decisions.
• Manage external legal counsel and oversee legal matters efficiently.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong background in commercial transactions, ideally within the energy, power, commodities or trading sectors.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Good understanding of regulatory and compliance matters within the energy or trading industry.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risks and business priorities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
