Legal Consultant

Job responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain contract management systems and policies in the Corporate.
2. Review business requirements for new contracts and scrutinize the tender/contract documents.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, and partnership agreements.
4. Ensure contracts align with company policies and legal standards.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions.
6. Manage claims, dispute resolution and record keeping.
7. Resolve conflicts during contract discussions to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
8. Identify contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
10. Serve as a liaison between internal departments, external partners, and legal counsel.
11. Provide guidance and support to teams regarding contractual obligations and procedures.
12. Track vendor and client performance to ensure adherence to agreed terms.
13. Address and resolve any disputes or breaches related to contracts.
14. Collaborate with legal teams to address litigation risks.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in law/legal or equivalent.
2. 5 years of practical field experience in contract management for the Construction industry.
3. Experience in executing both public sector contracting is an added advantage.
4. Knowledge of construction business, finance, legal, tender.
5. Good level of skillset in collaboration, conflict resolution, risk, and people management.
6. Good negotiation skill and experienced in resolving disputes and claims.
7. Good communication skills and command of written skills.
