Job description

We are currently looking for a Legal & Compliance counsel to join a reputable and forward-thinking insurance company, where you will play a critical role in aligning legal strategies with business goals, driving compliance culture, and supporting cross-function teams in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice to management and business units on a wide range of legal and compliance matters, including insurance law, corporate governance, data protection, employment, intellectual property, and litigation.

• Draft, review, and negotiate diverse legal documents and contracts (e.g., insurance policies, service and outsourcing agreements, vendor and employment contracts).

• Manage disputes and claims related to insurance, privacy, employment, and commercial matters.

• Monitor regulatory changes and industry developments, ensuring ongoing compliance with Singapore laws and regulations.

• Oversee data protection practices, including impact assessments, policy reviews, and incident response.

• Collaborate with internal departments and external counsel to address legal and regulatory issues effectively.

• Lead and support compliance reporting, internal audits, and legal risk assessments.

• Design and deliver internal training programs to promote awareness of legal and regulatory requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

• At least 5+ PQE in an in-house or private practice environment - Common Law qualified
• Background in litigation/ dispute/ health care/ pharmaceutical or insurance
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytically skills with a commercial sound approach
• Proficient in English with an additional language skill (Malay or Mandarin) would be a plus
• Independent, proactive while being a team player with a collaborative mindset and stakeholder influence skills
