Job summary

Decathlon Singapore is seeking a licensed lawyer with 3–6 PQE to support compliance, commercial contracts, data privacy, and governance across Decathlon’s APAC operations.

You will draft and negotiate cross-border agreements, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to legal operations and training for regional teams.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in-house counsel.
• Excellent communication and written skills in English.
• Admission to the Singapore Bar or qualified in a Commonwealth jurisdiction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures regulatory and operational compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
• Drafts, negotiates, and reviews cross-border manufacturing, supply chain, and general commercial agreements.
• Supports Data Protection initiatives and corporate governance.
• Manages legal tech tools, contract repositories, and conducts internal training.
• Provides ad-hoc legal support to the APAC legal director.

You will work for several Decathlon business units in Singapore. Your actions will be as stretched as our cross activities (production, supply, retail) covering all legal matters. Legal safety is part of our success by securing our businesses. You will have connections with our Decathlon Legal teammates all over the world to get the required support and share best practices.

Your essential duties and responsibilities:

Compliance

• Ensures regulatory and operational compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Manages daily compliance risk identification, reporting, and internal audits.
• Develops internal controls, preventative measures, and governance guidelines.
• Adapt and localize global headquarters governance policies to local context.
• Managing product compliance processes for Decathlon Singapore

Commercial Contracts & Transactions

• Drafts, negotiates, and reviews cross-border manufacturing, supply chain, and general commercial agreements.
• Delivers legal support across functional units, including IT, Marketing, Operations, and Events.

Data Privacy & Governance

• Supports Data Protection leadership to ensure compliance with privacy regulations (including the maintenance of DPTM).
• Assists with statutory corporate secretarial duties and corporate governance

Legal operations & training

• Manages legal tech tools, contract repositories, and workflow optimization.
• Designs and conducts internal legal training programs for teammates.
• Provides ad‑hoc legal support to the regional APAC legal director.

• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in law Admission to the Singapore Bar or qualified in a Commonwealth jurisdiction is preferred.

• Experience: 3 to 6 years of post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm or as in‑house counsel, preferably with exposure to retail, e‑commerce, FMCG, or supply chain/logistics sectors. Experience in corporate secretarial and contractual management would be a bonus
• Language skills: Excellent communication and written skills in English
• Computer skills: Excellent computing skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work autonomously and multitask efficiently with the different business units and support teams
• Superior attention to detail in order to identify and correct risky practices
