Job summary

Singapore Polytechnic seeks a lecturer in the School of Mathematical Sciences & Analytics to lead education in Technology and Analytics, including AI, Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualization and Quantum Computing. You will also contribute to Mathematics, Statistics or Programming, and interdisciplinary modules such as Data Fluency and Data Storytelling.

Beyond teaching, you will develop and review course materials, stay current with trends in AI and data fields, and participate in

• Relevant qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Engineering.
• Relevant industry experience and/or knowledge of how statistics is applied in different fields such as Data Analytics, Engineering or IT.

Responsibilities

• Teach in Technology and Analytics, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualisation and Quantum Computing.
• Teach in complementary areas such as Mathematics, Statistics or Programming.
• Teach interdisciplinary modules like Data Fluency, AI and Its Impact, Persuasive Communication with Data Storytelling, Problem Solving with Creative and Computational Thinking.
• Develop and review course materials and assessments to enhance student learning and employability.
• Undertake project and consultancy work with internal and external stakeholders, applying expertise in real-world contexts.

The job of an academic is challenging but meaningful. Not only will s/he have both the knowledge and working experience, s/he must also possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing, and moulding their characters. There will be opportunities to develop curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/ Institutional strategic initiatives will also be an important part of the job. What you will be working on:

As a lecturer in the School of Mathematical Sciences & Analytics, you will be primarily responsible for teaching in the domain of Technology and Analytics, with a focus on areas such as

• Artificial Intelligence,

• Data Science,

• Data Analytics,

• Data Visualisation, and

• Quantum Computing.

You will also be expected to teach in at least one complementary area such as

• Mathematics,

• Statistics, or

• Programming.

In line with SP's Common Core Curriculum, you will also be expected to teach at least one interdisciplinary module, which may include:

• Data Fluency

• Artificial Intelligence & Its Impact

• Persuasive Communication with Data Storytelling

• Problem Solving with Creative and Computational Thinking

• Developing and reviewing course materials and assessments to enhance student learning, performance, and employability

• Undertaking project and consultancy work with internal and external stakeholders, applying your expertise in real-world contexts
