Job summary

SPO Singapore Polytechnic invites applications for Lecturer roles to inspire and mentor youths, shaping curriculum and pedagogy. The position involves contributing to curriculum development, applied research projects and consultancy work with internal and external stakeholders.

Successful candidates will teach Diploma and higher level modules, develop teaching materials, and deploy effective pedagogy to facilitate learning while collaborating with a dynamic team in a Public Service oriented

Qualifications

• Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.
• Self-driven, independent and ready to work as a team.
• People-oriented with strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Experience in teaching will be an added advantage.
• Keen interest to develop new capabilities through projects and self-learning.
• Interest in exploring new technologies.
• Contribute to the teaching of the Professional Adult and Continuing Education (PACE) classes conducted at night.

What the role is

The successful candidate will be expected to play a critical role in curriculum development, pedagogy innovation and participation in applied research projects. There will be opportunities to introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job. The successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.

What we are looking for

• Additional Requirements (Lecturer –Rapid Transit Technology): Competent to teach at Diploma and higher levels in one of the following areas: Rapid Transit Signalling System; Rapid Transit System; Engineering Data Analytics and Industrial Internet of Things; Engineering Asset Management & Operation Technology
• Possess 3 years of relevant working experiences in one of the above areas.

• Additional Requirements (Lecturer –Power and Sustainable Energy): Competent to teach at Diploma and higher levels in one of the following areas: (a) Building Energy Efficiency & Management (b) Electrical Power systems & Installation (c) Power Electronics & Drives (d) Energy Storage Systems
• Possess 3 years of relevant work experience in one of the above areas

• Candidate who is currently a Professional Engineer (PE) or in the process of becoming a PE would have an added advantage.
