Job description

What the role is

As a Lecturer, your contributions go beyond teaching and facilitating learning. You will play a critical role in recognising and nurturing your students’ potential and their lifelong learning needs.

What you will be working on

  1. Develop and deliver engaging lectures and workshops in design cluster of courses.
  2. Collaborate with Industry partners for external projects and new training programmes.
  3. Mentor and guide students in their design projects, providing constructive feedback and support.
  4. Create and deliver lessons for the course, which includes teaching of relevant software.

What we are looking for

  1. Support in the development and delivery of high-quality course content for students in Interior and Product Design.
  2. Strong background in design fields, with the ability to inspire and educate students through engaging lectures, hands-on workshops, and real-world projects.
  3. Passion for aspiring youths and excellence, with patience for nurturing academic and personal growth.
  4. Skills in creation of detailed models/prototypes and passion for craftsmanship and hands-on work.
  5. Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience with a deep understanding of both product and interior design.
  6. Suitable credentials in Interior and/or Product Design.
  7. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and design practices to enhance curriculum relevance.

We are looking for an individual with:

  1. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects, including examples of furniture design, retail spaces, and/or residential interiors.
  2. Advanced proficiency in any 2 of the following software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max).
  3. Utilised design software (Adobe Creative Suite) to produce high-quality and engaging visual content, adhering to brand guidelines and design standards.
  4. Extensive hands-on experience with fabrication and construction techniques (e.g. woodworking, metal fabrication, upholstery).
  5. Proficiency in operating 3D printers, laser cutters, and other common workshop tools and equipment.
  6. A deep understanding of design principles, including ergonomics, user-centred design, and sustainability.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for fostering a creative and engaging learning environment.
  8. Prior teaching or training experience, exploratory projects co-created with Gen AI will be advantageous.
