Lecturer in Russian Language

The School of Humanities invites outstanding academics to apply for faculty position at the rank of Lecturer.

The Centre for Modern Language in SoH currently offers electives in 16 modern languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Malay, Russian, Singapore Sign Language, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese). The Centre places great importance on enhancing the intercultural knowledge and skills of the learners as well as their linguistic competence. We are seeking an experienced lecturer capable of teaching introductory to advanced Russian to tertiary students. Knowledge in current trends in second/foreign language teaching methodologies is preferred. Candidates should have proven track-record in teaching, curriculum design, multimedia course materials development and knowledge of new technologies in language instruction. The position is offered on a three-year renewable contract basis.

Requirements:
· Postgraduate qualification in Russian as a foreign/second language, Russian Linguistics, Russian Studies or equivalent.
· Native proficiency in written and spoken Russian to teach adult students.
· Experienced and demonstrated excellence in teaching Russian language preferably at tertiary level.
· Experienced in developing Russian language materials, including e-learning resources.
· Experienced with multimedia and computer-based instructional technologies.
· Ability to coordinate large courses.
· Proficient in English to communicate to students and stakeholders
