[What the role is]
This is a 2-year position as a Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences & Chemical Technology.[What you will be working on]
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering of Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Pre-Employment Training (PET) programmes in the areas of chemical engineering, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, bioprocessing or related fields.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design, develop and deliver in-person/online lectures, tutorials, practicals, assessments and marking for full-time and part-time courses related to chemical and biomolecular engineering, particularly in the modules related to biopharmaceutical production, upstream and downstream processing, bioprocessing engineering, and Good Manufacturing Practice.
Be available to teach at least one evening per week and/or on weekends for CET classes.
Conduct business development to the biopharmaceutical industry to drive CET courses, “Industry in Curriculum” and projects.
Supervise and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects
Collaborate with industry partners on training, applied research, and consultancy projects to stay industry relevant.
Carry out administrative duties to support academic and school operations.
Mentor students in character development, career readiness, and provide pastoral care.
Contribute to student-related activities, including leading overseas trips, internships, and outreach events.
[What we are looking for]
Relevant qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in chemical, biopharmaceutical, or bioprocess industries, or prior teaching experience.
Competent to plan, develop, and teach modules related to chemical engineering fundamentals and biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including but not limited to:
CET modules related to Biopharma Manufacturing and Operations
Bioprocess Engineering
Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
Biopharmaceutical Analysis
Upstream and Downstream Processing
GMP and Regulatory Compliance for Biopharmaceuticals
Passionate about education and possess strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with students
A team player with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
Self-driven, independent and able to multi-task effectively.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education
Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA)
Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP)
Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE)
