Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking a Lecturer in Aviation Management within the School of Engineering to deliver lectures, tutorials, and labs for both full-time and part-time learners. Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in any discipline with at least 3 years of relevant aviation industry experience.
• Ability to teach two domains: Airport Operations & Management, Airside Operations & Management, or Air Traffic Management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for education and student development.
• Independent and collaborative in cross-functional settings.
• Adaptability to changing operational and educational needs.
• Experience in airport or air traffic simulation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, labs, and supervise projects for both full-time and part-time learners.
• Design and review curriculum, learning materials, and assessments.
• Leverage technology-enabled learning and e-learning to support outcomes.
• Assess performance, set assignments, and ensure assessment integrity.
• Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students.
• Supervise SIP, MP, and other experiential learning activities.
• Engage with industry partners and professional bodies to keep curriculum relevant.
• Organise local and overseas student learning trips and polytechnic events.
• Support departmental initiatives and teaching duties outside hours.

[What the role is]

Lecturer (Aviation Management) / School of Engineering

[What you will be working on]

• Conduct lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, project supervision, and student consultations for full-time and part-time learners.
• Design, develop, deliver, and review curriculum, learning materials, assessments, and teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Leverage technology-enabled learning approaches, including e-learning and self-directed learning, to support effective teaching and learning.
• Assess student performance, set assignments and examinations, and ensure the quality and integrity of assessment processes.
• Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to address diverse student learning needs and support holistic development.
• Supervise Student Internship Programme (SIP) students, Major Projects (MP), and other experiential learning activities.
• Engage with industry partners, professional bodies, and communities to maintain curriculum relevance and participate in industry projects.
• Organise and manage local and overseas student learning trips, as well as polytechnic-wide events and activities.
• Support departmental initiatives and undertake teaching and related duties outside normal office hours when required.
