The role of a lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic is both meaningful and multifaceted. Beyond strong academic grounding, the ideal candidate will bring relevant working experience and a passion for education — especially in nurturing both youth and adult learners.

This role offers opportunities to contribute to curriculum development, deliver impactful teaching, and participate in applied research and industry collaboration. Administrative responsibilities supporting the School’s and Institution’s strategic priorities will also form part of the role. Successful candidates are expected to be resourceful, innovative, and possess strong communication skills.

The appointee must be competent to teach at least two of the following modules

  • Taxation
  • Accounting Analytics
  • Business Strategy and Sustainability
  • Cost & Management Accounting
  • Financial Accounting
  • Forensic Accounting and Assurance

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students.
  • Stay updated with developments in areas such as Sustainability Reporting, Accounting Analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Generative AI, and integrate relevant content into teaching.
  • Review and develop teaching curriculum to ensure currency, industry relevance, and alignment with student learning outcomes and employability goals.
  • Support the development of both PET and CET modules, including the infusion of digitalisation and sustainability.
  • Engage in applied research, consultancy, or industry projects, where appropriate, to enhance real-world learning for students.
  • Participate in School-level committees and projects, including new course development, industry partnerships, and internal process improvements.
  • Carry out teaching-related administrative tasks and contribute to school operations.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification(s) in accounting.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience, with practical knowledge in at least two of the above listed modules.
  • Technologically savvy, with working knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Excel, RPA, VBA, SQL, Power BI, and emerging technologies including Generative AI preferred.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
  • Candidates with relevant experience in training/teaching will have an added advantage.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
