Job Description & Requirements

This position will be based at any one of NIEC’s campuses, namely ITE Campus (Ang Mo Kio), Ngee Ann Polytechnic Campus and Temasek Polytechnic Campus.
Job Responsibilities
  • To lead and/or co-design a new module or review/improve a current module in collaboration with NIEC HQ, in tandem with industry development and in line with module and course objectives
  • To design and adopt innovative pedagogy, keeping abreast with technological developments to achieve module outcomes and quality delivery of the module
  • To deliver lessons according to module objectives, learning design and lesson instructional plans as provided by NIEC HQ
  • To supervise class assignments/projects/practicum/internship
  • To mark and monitor class performance, give informative and constructive feedback to classes on their learning
  • To monitor the Module/Course Evaluation Survey for quality indicator for improvements
  • To adopt and apply the assessment strategies and requirements for module assignments according to NIEC and Polytechnic assessment guidelines
  • To act as a class advisor/mentor for tutorial groups to provide necessary information and support (e.g. refer person for financial assistance, counselling)
  • To handle/follow-up with disciplinary issues in consultation and in collaboration with Module Leaders/Course Chairs/Course Leads, when necessary
  • To attend academic meetings, and training / complete exam processing and invigilation
  • To involve in committees/projects, as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related post-graduate qualifications
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in the early childhood industry
  • Background and experience in Early Years / Inclusive Practice / Special Needs / Mother Tongue languages / Music / Visual Art will be advantageous
  • IT savvy and has experience in using online teaching tools
  • Meticulous, self-initiated, responsive and adaptable
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively
