Position Overview

The Learning & Development (L&D) Executive supports the Learning & Development Manager in coordinating and organizing a range of human resources and learning & development activities that contribute to the attainment of the Company's performance standards and Hotel Goals. The individual is responsible for the administrative management and coordination of all learning and development activities within the hotel. The L&D Executive ensures that all training programs are efficiently planned, organized, and executed to meet the development needs of employees at all levels. The L&D Executive will play a key role in managing training schedules, tracking employee progress, and maintaining accurate training records.

The Role

Core Learning

  • Be a role model in inspiriting team members through strong demonstration of the Capella Culture and Service Philosophy. Ensures and provides flawless, upscale, professional and luxury guest experiences.
  • Manages and ensures all Training Certification Manuals (TCMs) are updated regularly, and training checklists are submitted for new hires.
  • Provides support in sourcing for vendor/service/training provider(s) for company's training programme or/and submit recommendations for management decision.
  • Coordinates and collates company's training needs.
  • Collates and compiles Human Resources/Learning & Development related nomination/survey/feedback, for analysis and communication with colleagues and/or management.
  • Supports the L&D Manager in the development of training programs that enhance colleague skills, performance, and engagement across all departments.
  • Supports the L&D Manager in the delivery of trainings across various topics.
  • Continuously assists in the improvement of training content and delivery methods based on feedback and changing business needs.

Operational Learning

  • Builds relationships with colleagues, and manages colleagues' needs and expectations.
  • Handles and escalates company/Human Resources/Learning & Development related requests or queries.
  • Generates training reports for management, tracking colleagues' progress, completion rates, and areas of improvement.
  • Drafts and disseminates company/Human Resources/Learning & Development information, including but not limited to daily reports.
  • Applies communication skills to perform workplace tasks and produces business documents using various software.
  • Coordinates and facilitates processes through the various stages of colleague cycle.

Logistical and Administrative Support

  • Maintains accurate and organized records of company/Human Resources/Learning & Development database, including but not limited to all training hours, attendance, certifications, and performance assessments.
  • Coordinates for all compliance and safety related trainings to be completed annually in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and schedules all in-house and external training programs, as well as employee engagements, ensuring that vendors' agreement contracting, resources, trainers, and venues are prepared in advance.
  • Maintains an up-to-date training calendar and ensures all employees have access to relevant training opportunities.
  • Manages the logistics for in-house trainings, including room setup, materials preparation, and registration of participants.
  • Handles communications, including but not limited to training/event invitations, reminders, and follow-up.
  • Provides support in sourcing for vendor/service/training provider(s) for company's training programme or/and submit recommendations for management decision.
  • Verifies and processes claims and expenses related to Human Resources/Learning & Development.

Colleagues Engagement

  • Supports Human Resources operations, where required.
  • Plans and executes yearly colleagues' activities including annual dinner and dance and general staff session.
  • Manages the logistics for employee engagements activities and events, including vendor coordination, setup and teardown, materials preparation, and registration of participants.
  • Updates notice boards and ACE on a timely basis.

Talent Profile

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualifications.
  • Prior experience in administration, human resources or learning & development functions in luxury hotels/resorts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
