Job description

The Learning Coach sits within LLD and reports to the Senior Manager (Adult Curriculum).

She/ He is responsible for delivering the modules under the Adult Curriculum to clients in the Clusters. She/ He is also responsible for managing the logistics and administrative planning and developing and managing the client's lifelong learning plans to ensure that each client accessing their courses is meeting their person-centered plans. She/ He should work in a collaborative relationship with other staff in the centres and the Allied Health Professional (AHP) team to understand trainees' preferences, interests, needs and support, to ensure that their learning needs are met.

She/ He should possess pedagogy/andragogy skills and training competencies. S/He should also have good communication and problem-solving skills.

Drive Life-Long Learning Curriculum in RCS

  • Ensure smooth roll-out of the Adult Curriculum in collaboration with the Centre's Training Officer and relevant AHPs for clients' training
  • Support the Training Officers in the roll-out of the Adult Curriculum in the centres through coaching, guiding and assisting during lessons.
  • Support the Training Officers in monitoring the progress of their clients' learning by administering assessment and through observations.
  • Provide progress reports on roll-out of curriculum/module and its effectiveness
  • Work with Senior Manager (Adult Curriculum) on the lesson delivery and lesson planning relating to the Adult Curriculum, which includes planning training schedules and running the lesson in the absence of a Training Officer.
  • Work in collaboration with the Course Developers to review existing lesson materials to help improve overall curriculum and operationalisation of the Adult Curriculum
  • Collaborate to prepare and develop age-appropriate training materials and coordinate all training-related logistics.
  • Source for learning journeys, enrichment workshops and courses to help supplement the Adult Curriculum and liaise with vendors to serve needs of PwIDs.
  • Prepare and develop home-based learning resources to support caregivers in their involvement in the learning for PwIDs at home

Knowledge Management

  • Create and manage a resource library of programme activities, resources and tools that can be used and replicated by Training Officers and ground staff
  • Work with Senior Managers, Course Developers and Centres to source for suitable resources for use in the Clusters
  • Monitor the usage of resources and their effectiveness

Administrative

  • Perform administrative duties such as recording of training plans, carrying out of caregiver conferences, performing of evaluations, course-specific assessments, and charting of outcomes.
  • Work with Senior Manager (Adult Curriculum) to measure the quality and impact of lessons by external vendors when they deliver aspects of the Adult Curriculum.
  • Monitor and review the tools for learning such as IMR, iPads, games and Smartboards to ensure that the devices are kept up to date and the optimal utilization of the tools.

Collaboration with external stakeholders on the delivery of the Adult Curriculum

  • Coordinate the conduct of the Adult Curriculum by external vendors, partners or volunteers and support the delivery of lessons by ensuring that each client accessing the lessons are meeting their learning needs.
  • Monitor the progress of the clients' learning by administering assessments and through observations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or Community Services or related fields with at least 2 years working experience.

Other Information

  • Experienced Training Officers or Teaching Aides with an interest in Programme / Curriculum planning are preferred.
  • A strong team player with excellent people skills.
  • Possesses strong organisation skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-motivated and adaptable individual.
  • Ability to work well both independently & in a team with integrity, sensitivity, knowledge and drive to support & advocate for their clients with intellectual disability and autism.
