Job summary

Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is seeking an experienced Transmission & Transport Architect to design secure end-to-end systems and drive large-scale network projects for the Home Team.

You will gather requirements, write tender documents, manage vendors, plan architecture evolution and lead full project lifecycles from concept to delivery, collaborating with HTX stakeholders and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/tertiary degree in engineering or information technology.
• Minimum 3 years in a large enterprise environment with telecom focus.
• Strong knowledge of DWDM, MPLS, SD-WAN, NFV/SDN.
• Experience with 5G tech and 3GPP/ETSI standards.
• Security knowledge with QKD and PQC is a plus.
• Vendor networking certifications (CCNP, CCIE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end transmission/transport systems for HTX needs, ensuring security and long-term sustainability.
• Gather requirements, conduct trials, write tender docs, evaluate tenders, procure, and manage vendors.
• Plan and manage projects for transmission and transport networks including topology, capacity, rollout and performance.
• Plan architectural evolution including technology selection, topology and capacity for new/existing networks.
• Analyze architectural differences and integration across platforms; communicate implications to stakeholders.
• Lead project lifecycle from requirements to tender, procurement, and vendor management.
• Identify and mitigate risks early; escalate critical matters to management when needed.
• Provide regular updates on milestones, issues and expenditure to HTX management.
• Oversee system integration, testing (UAT/FAT/OSAT/SSAT) and ensure deliverables meet specs.
• Ensure proper configuration, change management, and version control; maintain asset docs.
• Monitor vendor performance and system availability; optimize life-cycle costs.
• Engage with stakeholders across agencies and HTDs; perform other duties as assigned.
