Lead Technology Developer (DoD Adhesive Polymer) #JTL

• Drive the development of new and improved key technology building blocks within a broader and more complex requirement framework while systematically expanding knowledge within their sub technology field.
• Initiate, perform and support key developments of products, materials, processes, technology modules and methods within the framework of feasibility studies, business cases and/or projects, incl. experimental work and coordination of lab, pilot or production trials.
• Continuously ensure and drive the development of knowledge within specific sub technology field (width & depth).
• Contribute to and initiate invention disclosures.
• Perform literature and patent searches in consultation with the related responsible persons, support FTO analysis from a technological perspective.
• Provide input to the relevant Technology Roadmap(s) while making investment recommendations for technology development.
• Actively build up and maintain internal and external networks, with the focus on technological aspects incl. scouting and screening of new raw materials (e.g. suppliers, institutions, academia).
• Support recruiting and technical guidance of students or apprentices.

Requirements

a. Educational level & Certifications

• PhD degree in Science or Engineering discipline or Master degree in Science or Engineering discipline with at least 3 years of experience.

b. Experience

• Experience in manufacturing processes of polymeric films and functional layers (e.g. organic solutions and dispersions). Knowledge in DoD NanoTech or DoD Physics or DoD Extrusion or DoD Testing is highly preferred.
• Work with solvents and flammable and toxic materials.
• Work in chemical labs (preferably in clean room environment).
• Preferably work experience with adhesives or pressure sensitive adhesives.
