The Role

In this role you will provide software quality assurance support to software development teams. This role will ensure that project teams follow the defined software development process and conformance to related regulations and related industry standards. As a member of the software quality assurance team you will work with the team to implement continuous improvement to the software quality process, monitor the health of implemented software systems and provide guidance to project teams. As a key member of the software quality department, the individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring compliance to Dyson software quality policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the System Quality Assurance representative within cross-functional product development teams.
  • Provide ongoing software quality engineering support throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Assist teams in determining verification and validation needs and requirements.
  • Provide independent quality oversight throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish and promote software quality best practices across projects and engineering teams.
  • Guide teams in implementing quality-by-design principles and effective quality planning activities.
  • Build strong quality partnerships with Software/Hardware Engineering, Product Quality, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, and Product Support teams.
  • Provide support for software development projects by review/approval software deliverables: Software assessment, software development, verification & validation plans
  • User requirements, functional/software requirements Configuration specification, software architectural and design documents, peer review Risk management documents Test protocols, requirement traceability matrix, summary reports
  • Ensure successful transfer of software from development into manufacturing product support
  • Participate in software risk management process throughout the entire software development lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance of validation efforts performed by internal/external validation personnel
  • Provide quality assurance support to software related CAPAs
  • Provide software project status updated and software validation status to management
  • Participate in the process improvements to the software quality assurance program
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training to employee on principles of software validation, software risk management, and general quality tools
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behaviour with both internal/external business associated that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices
  • Optimize Dyson products software developments process, ensure followed throughout the entire development and QA Evaluate the impact of software quality management principles on business objectives and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of developing and implementing software quality programs, which include tracking, analysing, reporting, problem resolution, configuration management, process improvement, training and supplier management.
  • Perform software audits including audit planning, approaches, types, analyses, reporting results, and follow-up.
  • Apply project management principles and techniques as they relate to software project planning, implementation, and tracking.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risk.
  • Apply verification and validation processes, including early software defect detection and removal, inspection, and testing methods (e.g., types, levels, strategies, tools, and documentation).
  • Must be able to analyse test strategies, develop test plans and execution documents and review customer deliverables.
Key Skills / Experience
  • >5 years software quality management or relevant experience.
  • Strong experience managing software quality across Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM) and external development partners.
  • Certified software quality engineer preferred, such as CQQE, ISO auditor …
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of software in IOT products, such as embedded, app, cloud and so on.
  • Experience in regulated environment, such as ISO, IEC, FDA and so on standards, Experience working in with Agile software development, Devop environment software verification and validation
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skill, and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment and delivery quality under minimal supervision
  • Deep understanding of Software and SQA processes and methodologies in a software development environment
  • Experience with software configuration management Possess a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, interpersonal relationships, professional ethics, and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Basic understanding of configuration management processes including planning, configuration identification, configuration control, change management, status accounting, auditing, and reporting.
  • Able to assess the effectiveness of product release and archival processes.
  • Able to understand systems architecture and implement software development and maintenance processes, quantify the fundamental problems and risks associated with various software development methodologies and assess, support, and implement process and technology changes.
  • Good understanding of statistical process control.
  • Able to select, define, and apply product and process metrics and analytical techniques, and communicate results.
