Job summary

JPMorganChase in Singapore seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure applications. You will build Java microservices, leverage streaming and reactive paradigms, and lead architectural decisions across Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, and AWS.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to API design, and ensure robust logging, security, and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Advanced proficiency in Java with a strong willingness to code hands-on.
5+ years of software engineering experience delivering distributed systems handling large data volumes and real-time distribution.
Strong experience with CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and agile, test-driven delivery.
Hands-on experience with Redis, MQ messaging, and streaming tech like Kafka.
Solid understanding of microservices, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven architectures.
Mentor, coach, and grow engineering talent.

Responsibilities

Lead and actively contribute to design, development, and deployment of high-quality applications.
Build Java-based microservices using streaming, non-blocking, reactive programming paradigms.
Architect and operate scalable systems leveraging Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK and AWS.
Define and maintain technical documentation and service APIs with robust logging and security.
Participate in API design discussions and guide design patterns and integration approaches.
Lead and participate in code reviews; promote TDD/BDD practices.
Validate service scalability and resilience with mock testing and performance strategies.
Mentor and develop junior engineers to foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
