As part of its focus on advanced repair and manufacturing technologies, the team is looking for an experienced coatings engineer to lead the development, optimisation, and qualification of coating solutions.

As a Lead Repair Development Engineer, Coatings, you will lead the development and improvement of protective and functional coating systems across repair, R&D, and manufacturing environments.
You will work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, vendors, and global teams to improve coating performance, resolve technical issues, and drive process improvements.
Develop, evaluate, and optimise coating systems using HVOF, thermal spray, and related technologies.
Investigate coating failures including adhesion issues, corrosion, blistering, cracking, peeling, and environmental degradation.
Work with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and global engineering teams to implement coating processes and resolve production issues.
Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and vendors on coating application and performance.
Prepare technical reports, test plans, qualification documents, and engineering recommendations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to coating quality, application efficiency, and lifecycle performance.
Apply technical expertise and analytical thinking to address complex manufacturing and repair challenges.
Evaluate alternative technical solutions beyond standard parameters where required.
Act as a technical resource for less experienced team members.
Lead small projects and help bring stakeholders to consensus on technical solutions.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced technical expertise in engineering, technology, repair development, or a related field. Candidates with a high school diploma and substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
5-10 years of experience in HVOF, thermal spray, or related surface engineering technologies.
Strong technical knowledge of coating processes.
Good understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven experience in root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Experience in project planning and execution is an advantage.
