Job summary

GE Vernova in Singapore seeks a Lead Quality Engineer to oversee QA and QC at cell and plant levels, driving quality systems, process yields, and CoPQ reduction through problem solving. You will mentor staff and champion zero-defect initiatives.

You will conduct RCA, lead quality improvement projects, and ensure QMS compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in quality/engineering in manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Own QA and QC at cell level; extend to plant level quality initiatives.
• Champion BIQ at plant level and coach cell members toward zero-defect.
• Lead plant-level training for skill-based competency assessment.
• Support QMS implementation, draft and train procedures.
• Develop knowledge of gas turbine manufacturing processes; lead problem solving.
• Drive plant-wide yield improvements and reduce CoPQ (scrap, rework, warranty).
• Facilitate Quality Improvement Projects to meet KPI targets.
• RCA expert; consult across teams for complex issues.
• Maintain and execute internal audit program in the plant.
• Resolve customer NCRs and coordinate containment actions.
• Mentor juniors and lead cross-functional teams.

Lead Quality Engineer in Manufacturing: This position oversees both aspects of quality assurance and control at cell and plant level, managing quality risks in manufacturing processes. The role requires implementing quality management systems, drive quality competency plant wide, invoke process yield improvements and reducing CoPQ through problem-solving expertise. Key responsibilities include championing zero-defect frameworks, conducting root cause analyses, facilitating targeted plant level quality improvement projects, and mentoring junior staff. Required qualifications include 7 years' industry experience, ISO 9001:2015 knowledge, and high Lean/Six Sigma proficiency. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control at assigned cell level. Includes quality assurance of products and manufacturing processes. Will be involved at wider plant level beyond cell level to supplement plant wide quality initiatives.
• BIQ champion at plant level. Implement, sustain and coach cell members on BIQ element to stay in zero-defect framework.
• Lead plant level training initiatives to move factory towards standardized skill-based competency assessment.
• Support the business in implementation and adherence of Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements. May be required to draft, issue and train local procedures to strength plant level QMS.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of gas turbine component manufacturing processes. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to lead problem solving to achieve SQDC performance matrix.
• Drive plant wide initiatives to increase product/process yield and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) – Scrap, rework, warranty costs
• Facilitate Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) at plant level to meet quality KPI targets.
• RCA expert to resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established RCA processes. Will require close consultation from various internal/external team members for issues outside of experience.
• Key quality personal in maintaining and executing internal audit program in the plant.
• Will be required to resolve customer raised NCRs and organize required actions eg. Raise quality awareness, conduct quality briefs, monitor and exercise containment actions.
• Provides informal guidance to junior team members and lead cross-function teams on assigned projects.

Required Qualifications

• 7 years operational, quality and engineering experience in manufacturing industry preferred
• Basic understanding of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
• Practitioner of Lean/ 6 Sigma methodologies
