Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for Process optimization & development in Optics Thin Film Coating manufacturing.
- Lead the Process engineering team in building up manufacturing capability, through the development & growth on Thin Film deposition technology.
- Improve manufacturing yields, efficiency & cost-effectiveness.
- Responsible for new product & process transfers.
- Lead project team on continuous improvement.
- Use engineering tools including Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) & Statistical Process Control (SPC), to analyze & understand process variables and the impact on thin film & substrate properties.
- Responsible for ISO standard process documentation & conduct training, auditing of manufacturing work processes.
- Responsible for off-shift call support for critical process troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics.
- Relevant experience in an advanced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical & project management skills.
- Good technical knowledge of the thermal & optical properties of materials.
- In depth knowledge of Thin Film deposition physics & Thin Film design.
- Knowledge of high vacuum systems, evaporation techniques, cleaning & drying technologies.
- Knowledge of DOE, FMEA, SPC, TQM.
Skills
- Data visualization in Power BI or similar platform.
- Ability to analyze and extract meaningful insight of data.
- Knowledge of work safety practices, handling of industrial/ hazardous materials.
Other Requirement
- Must commit to Overseas Training estimate duration of 10 weeks at Coherent site in United States/Suzhou/Philippines for future date. Training bond 1.5 years will start from date of return from overseas.
Working Conditions
- Cleanroom. PPE: Smock, face mask, safety shoe.
- Monday to Friday office hour.
- Exposure to low level of radiation with safety protection measure in place.
